It works for vacuum cleaners, and now for ironsMarch 4, 2013
Sometimes something is so simple you wonder why it’s never been thought of before. For years, we’ve had vacuum cleaners with self-retracting cords. But I’ve never seen an iron with one — until now. It’s such a simple application of an idea from one appliance to another, you wonder why it took so long.
To retract the cord, you just plug the power end into the connector at the base and it flies back in. It was ideal for the situation too — a hotel iron, where the cord is a real nuisance when you’re trying to put the iron away. And it stops the possibility of a still-hot iron burning through the cord and potentially creating a hazardous situation.
