In defense of bullet points

March 16, 2010

I’m a bullet list fan. I love them — I love reading them and I love writing them. Some people hate them and liken them to ‘telegraphic speak’. Not me — I find most bulleted lists both efficient and effective.

And I’m not the only one. James Chartrand (of CopyBlogger fame) has written an article on Why bullet points are still going strong (http://www.fuelyourblogging.com/why-bullet-points-are-still-going-strong/). His reasons:

  • Bullet points help your readers get through your [content] faster
  • Bullet points make it seem as though the [content] is simpler (even if it’s not!)
  • Bullet points allow you to organize your thoughts better.
