A picture is worth a thousand words

June 19, 2009

Graphics such as flowcharts can add value to technical writing, and, in some cases (think Ikea), replace the writing altogether. And the use of commonly understood symbols (at least in western cultures), can simplify the graphic even more.

Below are three images sent to me by John McK, which need no words — they probably don’t even need the titles I gave them! They were part of a campaign by a beer company (unknown).

"Let's go for a drink"

"Let's go for a drink"

"I need to go to the bathroom"

"I need to go to the bathroom"

"Do you want to come back to my place?"

"Do you want to come back to my place?"
