Flights booked, preparation done

February 15, 2009

In just over 6 weeks, The Conference for Software User Assistance will start in Seattle!

This week I finalized my presentation and my contribution to the panel I’m on and I’ll send those off this weekend.

I also booked my flights — it will be a quick trip this year, but there are still more than enough flights to deal with (Perth to Melbourne [overnight], then Los Angeles, a couple of nights with an uncle in Orange County, then flights from Santa Ana to San Francisco then to Seattle where the conference is being held; once the conference is over, Seattle to Vancouver, then to Hong Kong [overnight] and then back to Perth). I’ll be gone about 10 days of which about three will be spent entirely in planes… You can see how much I like this conference ;-)

If you’re in the technical communication field, and specialize in online Help and other forms of user assistance, then this conference is for you. It’s always really well-organized and has lots of interesting and timely presentations, many of which are very practical. The learning opportunities are fantastic, but even better are the networking opportunities — the conference is just the right size for you to rub shoulders with some of the gurus in our world, and maybe share a coffee, lunch or a beer with them.
