Vista: Uninstall a program

November 6, 2008

So back in July 2008 I get a new laptop, installed with Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. And it’s got Norton’s and AOL instant messenger on it, both of which I want to remove—pronto. I can find Control Panel, but not Add or Remove Programs. After all these years, this common Windows function is now renamed in Vista.

In Vista, it’s under: Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features. Select the program you want to remove, then click Uninstall.

It’s a much more sensible name for it, but I’ll have to get “Add/remove” out of my head first!
